Brian Clarke's design for the Great South Window at Ascot's new grandstand is inspired by and based upon the passage of sunlight through English oak leaves. Like a forest canopy it forms a protective and gentle filter of colour and a vital part of the architecture of the Grandstand.
The completed window would be one of the largest stained glass artworks in the world. Here it is visualised at night on an architects elevation drawing.
